Ok, after the tough posts I’ve written this week, one light description of next week’s activities.
I am leaving early tomorrow. I will be on the ATVO bus to the Marco Polo Airport at 6.50 in the morning, and then on the Venice-Munich flight at 8.30. Then at 11.15 I am scheduled to leave Munich, get in Chicago by 1PM local time, jump on a rental car, and drive to Fermilab, where a not-too-busy week awaits me.
First, I need to renew my ID, without which I cannot enter the site. Oh well.
Then Mia, one of Padova’s undergrad students working with me at their thesis, will present the advancement of her work at the Jet Energy and Resolution mini-Workshop on Wednesday. We’ll review what she has to say tomorrow.
I need to do some work for the top mass analysis Elena (other undergrad in thesis) is carrying forward, and some more for Marco (a PhD student), who is producing Monte Carlo samples for a CMS analysis and need my input on Missing Et resolutions.
I also need to talk to a guy responsible for a piece of code, and get some information from him, which Diego - yet another undergrad - needs to complete a task.
Besides that, I have a chess match on Tuesday evening, of which I will report here thereafter. Our team (Fermi) will be playing the St. Charles Baker team, and this seems to be our last chance to catch a place in this year’s playoffs.
Finally, I would love to do some shopping if I can… And for sure drink a few beers with Mia and Julien somewhere one of these evenings!
