Apparently, the Higgs bump was nothing else than a fluctuation… More accurate estimates worked out during the weekend by an independent group have determined that there is consistency between observed mass distribution and background prediction.

….Naah. It was an April's Fool, and not even a very smart one.

Alas, the Berkeley physicists (and the rest of us) will have to work much harder before we can see a 10-event fluke, let alone a 4-sigma signal!
