A fellow blogger and experimental physicist has put out an extremely well written post about Dalitz plots. Please visit him in http://superweak.wordpress.com/2006/07/31/dalitz-plots/ , he deserves some attention.

Dalitz plots are a two-dimensional distribution representing the invariant masses of pairs of particles produced in particular reactions. They were one of the primary means for discovery of new particles in the fifties, but are still used today in low-energy physics experiments.
