New pics from the Azores September 6, 2006

Yesterday I visited the western part of the island of San Miguel. I was lucky to have the company of Marco and Giuseppe this time.
Initially the weather was lousy, and our visit to the Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul was a disappointment – we could not see very well due to the clouds surrounding us. But as we left to the coast the sky cleared, and we could enjoy very nice views of the sea – which was not calm and so it exhibited a wide variety of azure and blue colours as waves hit the cliffs.
I was lucky enough to find a safe place for a swim, although the waves were worrying me a bit. No harm though.
We then returned to the lagoas, where we could finally enjoy very fine views. Check it in the pics below…

Above, two pictures of the coast from the westernmost point of San Miguel.

Above is the place where I had my swim… The rocks were very slippery, and waves were not collaborating in keeping me standing up… But then I dove and forgot about it.

This is a small lagoa next to the two more famous “verde” and “azul”. It is very nice though, because of its secludedness. No trails can be seen leading down, nor any sign of human activity.

Another picture of the coast.
lol i dont even know what the azores are but i like you pics esp the one of the lagoa
Thank you G, I appreciate your feedback.

Funny to think that this place was hit by a hurricane barely a fortnight later!
I did not know that!
Funny – and lucky then…
