If they were alive, it is possible that Poincare and Hilbert would say that the author of that saying practiced what he preached!
I remember seeing the first one attributed to Einstein, but it may just be slander (he was pretty restrictive with references in his papers).
That be either Shelley’s Frankenstein or God.
Probably Dr. Frankenstein then. My idea of God is of somebody who sits and watches as others do research.
