Higgs search
In this page I collect links to some posts containing information on the ongoing searches for the Higgs boson, and discussions on Higgs physics and related topics. I will make an attempt at keeping this updated.
NB: the links are in reverse chronological order – the most recent ones are at the top of this list.

- D0’s new limits on SM Higgs cross section: a thorough discussion of the Higgs limits found by D0 with different search methods.
- Associated ZZ production measured: an account of the recent findings of CDF in this final state, important for Higgs searches.
- A fair account of the matter for once: translation of an article on the Higgs appeared on the italian newspaper “Il Sole-24 ore”
- 95% CL ? Watch your language!: a discussion of the real meaning of the 95% confidence level limits, with the specific example of Higgs boson searches at LEP.
- New SM Higgs limits from D0: an account of the updated limits published by D0 for winter 07 conferences.
- The trouble with talking about physics: some insight on the ripples caused by leaks to the media about the tentative Higgs signal found by CDF.
- Rumors about the Higgs: a report of insider discussions about the likelihood that a Higgs can be searched in the Z->bb signal plots.
- The MSSM Higgs signal buried in my plot: some discussion of a possible H->bb excess in data used to extract the Z->bb signal.

- How do I like my Mt-Mw plot: some rants about the way to display the latest information on the constraints to the Higgs boson mass.
- A summary Mw-Mt plot for Christmas 2006: some notes on the impact of the winter 2007 W mass measurement on the Higgs limits.
- Speculations about the Higgs boson mass: a long post where I discuss some frequently asked questions about the Higgs boson, its mass limits, and the implications for supersymmetric theories.
- Fine tuning and new physics at the LHC: a link to a quite interesting talk by Andrea Romanino on the title’s topic.

- WZ production discovered!: a report on the recent observation of pair-production of W and Z bosons, which has strong implications on the searches for the Higgs at the Tevatron. Also discussed is a ZZ candidate event which might well be a Higgs decay event…
- This 1000$ says there ain’t new physics at the TeV scale: my bet of $1000 that the only 5-sigma thing that will be discovered at the LHC with 10 fb-1 of data will be a Standard Model Higgs boson.
